Getting Started

Welcome to TALER! This guide will help you get started with the TALER blockchain by downloading and installing the wallet application.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure your system meets the following requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows 10/11, macOS (Apple Silicon), or Linux (x64/ARM64)
  • Disk Space: At least 10GB of free space (for blockchain data)
  • Internet Connection: Stable connection for blockchain synchronization
  • RAM: Minimum 2GB available memory

Download TALER Wallet

Step 1: Visit the Release Page

Download the latest TALER wallet from the community-driven GitHub repository:

Step 2: Choose Your Platform

Select the appropriate package for your operating system:

Step 3: Verify the Download

After downloading, verify the file integrity by checking the file size and SHA256 checksum (available on the release page).

Once you’ve downloaded the TALER wallet for your platform:

  1. Installation: Follow the platform-specific installation instructions in the Wallet Setup guide
  2. First Launch: Learn how to start the wallet and sync with the blockchain
  3. Create Wallet: The wallet will be created automatically on first launch
  4. Start Using: Begin sending and receiving TALER coins
