# TALER Blockchain

> Hybrid Proof-of-Work / Proof-of-Stake cryptocurrency launched on the genesis block on 13 September 2017. The name pays homage to the historic European Thaler. Built on the Bitcoin Core foundation with a memory-hard Lyra2Z mining algorithm and Dark Gravity Wave difficulty adjustment. Maximum supply 23,333,333 TLR; ticker TLR; network port 23153.
